Because of this, the storage of raw materials for pressure-sensitive adhesives is a challenge in the production of pressure-sensitive adhesives. Due to the initial viscosity, pressure-sensitive adhesive blocks cannot be stacked together directly, but must be wrapped in non-adhesive plastic film, which is then torn apart and put into the furnace before production, which reduces production efficiency. In order to solve this problem well, people thought of using hot melt adhesive film to wrap hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive.

1. What is the principle of wrapping hot melt adhesive film?

As we know, hot melt adhesive film is different from hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive, it does not have initial adhesion at room temperature, so after its packing of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive block, there is no problem of bonding before the adhesive block. On the other hand, the nature of the hot melt adhesive film itself is similar to the hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive, the compatibility can reach a more rational state, so it is not necessary to tear off the hot melt adhesive film before production and then put the block into the furnace, the hot melt adhesive film can be put in with the block, the performance of the produced adhesive will not be greatly affected.

2. What are the characteristics of hot melt adhesive film?

Hot melt adhesive film has the characteristics of low melting point, good fluidity, good compatibility and low cost. The low melting point is because the melting point of hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive is relatively low, if the melting point of the hot melt adhesive film is too high, it will be difficult to melt, and the melting point of the produced hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive will be affected. The general melting point of the hot melt adhesive film is just 60-80℃. Good fluidity of the film, the hot melt adhesive block after packaging is thrown into the melting furnace, which can be melted off well during melting without leaving residue and will not cause clogging of the machine.

The requirement of good compatibility is also a reason, both hot melt adhesive film melting and hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive can be well integrated together, will not affect the performance of the hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive. The low cost is also easy to understand, because the hot melt adhesive film is essentially a hot melt pressure sensitive adhesive block to play the role of isolation, so that it is easy to store and transport, so the requirements for the thickness must not be high, generally in the thickness of about 2 silk to meet the requirements, so the cost of manufacturing is relatively low.
